straight stairs

The stairs are on their way.

They're straight.

I managed to find them at an auctionsite, alongsite the railing and a few other things.

Bids were asked. I gave them low, to enable room for a counterbid.
But they were accepted!

All of them!

I feel so lucky!

Now I'm looking for a fine striped white pink wallpaper.
Or maybe even white, pink, mint or light green.

stairs

I've decided to make stairs in the square room.

Ofcourse I would love to have a curved one.
I saw one at a site, but when I came back today it was twice as expensive.

So I either buy a straight basis of stairs at an auctionsite or make one myself.

I'm also thinking about making a stone wall on the outside.
I know one can buy stones. But it will be more interesting to make them myself with clay.

So there's enough to think about!

a dollhouse is about choices and choices

Making a dollhouse is about choices and planning.

So I've spent last week looking around and trying to decide which kind of house I want.

The rounded part, I want to have a summery look.
Or maybe I want it to be a balletstudio.
It'll have a wooden floor. Light preferable. Made from icesticks.

Part of the outside, the toplevel, I want to paint white on the outside and then make dark pieces of wood on it, like a tudorhouse.

The square part will have a tilefloor in it.

I love to have stairs in the house, meaning I have to saw a hole in the topbottom/bottomceiling.

So I'm beginning to feel the need for special equipment.

It's very enjoyable to look around and get ideas.

I've already bought a gardenfurniture set of 4 chairs and a table.

When I make a balletstudio, I'll put sweet pink pillows on the chairs.

But I might decide to use the set in the garden, with flowery cushions.

Slowly the house starts to take shape in my mind.

But one way or another, I'm stuck at this phase of building, because when I want to have stairs or a fireplace, I need to have access to the different parts of the bottomceiling/topbottom.

I'm so fortunate

I spotted my favorite house online on an auctionsite.
Much to my surprise I was the second bidder and.....

I was the last one.

So when everything goes right, I'll have my long longed for dollhouse here.

It's a kit, so that means I'll be able to assemble it myself.
Some say that it's rather difficult, others tell me it's just the stuff real dollhousemakers love.

I guess it needs quite a while to arrive here.
Maybe even customs will be in between.

But I feel so happy!

new house

This morning I've received an adorable present.

The little house you see here.

I couldn't wait to assemble it, so when they left I sat down and glued the bottom half together.
Just the walls, bottom and the ceiling of the bottom floor.

The doors will be attached later, when I've decided how they will be decorated.

There are two little attick rooms.
One on the round-ish part and one on the house.
The first one is very small, so I'll wait untill I've decided what I'll make of it.

I'm now looking for wallpaper and some fake glass for the windows and doors.

(On the photo of the box the doors are upside down. LOL!).

It's fun to have a bare house in the room now... my phantasies are working at full speed.
